Le Groupe de la Banque mondiale alloue au Liban un financement de 200 millions de dollars en vue d’améliorer le réseau routier du pays, dont la vétusté porte atteinte à la sécurité publique et fait obstacle au développement rural et urbain ainsi qu’à la promotion d’une croissance économique équitable.

خصَّصت مجموعة البنك الدولي 200 مليون دولار لتطوير شبكة الطرق في لبنان، والتي تُعتَبر خطرا على السلامة العامة، وعائقا أمام الإنماء المتوازن بين المدن والمناطق والريفية والنموالإقتصادي المنصف. وسيُستخدَم هذا التمويل في إصلاح نحو 500 كيلومتر من الطرق في المرحلة الأولى من خطة حكومية أوسع لتجديد قطاع الطرق المتردّي في البلاد.

The World Bank Group has earmarked US$200 million for upgrading Lebanon’s road network, seen as a risk to public safety as well as an impediment to urban-rural development and equitable economic growth. The funds will be used to repair around 500 kilometers of roads in the first phase of a broader government plan to revamp the country’s crumbling road sector.
